How it works

The sum

Per-guest costs times the number of guests, plus your fixed costs. "Real cost per guest" is the total divided by the number of guests, which includes a share of the fixed costs.

Why it matters

Guest numbers are usually the biggest lever on a wedding budget. The "guests your budget allows" line shows how many people fit once fixed costs are paid.
