How it works

The sum

Every amount is turned into a yearly figure first (weekly x 52, fortnightly x 26, monthly x 12), then divided back into weeks, fortnights and months. Amounts are rounded to the cent.

Why a month isn't 4 weeks

A year has 52 weeks but 12 months, so an average month is about 4.33 weeks. Budgeting a monthly bill as "4 weekly pays" leaves you short a few times a year.

Good to know

Some years have an extra payday (27 fortnightly or 53 weekly pays), depending on the calendar. Your payslip is the final word. This is a planning tool, not financial advice.
